Author: Dr. Charles Hutchins
Dr. Charles Hutchins is recognized worldwide for his consulting and expertise in SMT. His experience includes 22 years at Texas Instruments, where he served in capacities such as engineering management, quality department manager, and product manager. Dr. Hutchins was responsible for engineering management at TI's SMT center for 3 years, specifically process engineering, SPC implementation, yield improvement, product design and development, and the Customer Training Program. After he left TI he worked as a technical and managerial consultant for several major corporations and conducted numerous SMT training seminars. Dr. Hutchins is the author of over 50 technical papers, and his first textbook 'Surface Mount Technology - How To Get Started' as well as this, newer editions have helped many in the industry gain knowledge and success. He served as President of the SMTA (national organization), VP of Technical Programs, and was on the Advisory Board for SMT magazine for many years. Dr. Hutchins holds his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University.  |
