SMT Plus Inc. is a privately-held company headquartered in Penn Valley, CA with development operations in Canada, a worldwide dispersed workforce and network of representatives, resellers and distributors.

Our company was founded in 1985 in San Jose, CA. by our CEO and President, James C. Blankenhorn an Electrical Engineer. In its early years SMT Plus was a major electronic circuit board design and prototype assembly company specializing in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and the miniaturization of electronics. As well, SMT Plus provided training, primarily for CAD designers of electronic circuit boards. In 1988, we sold the design and assembly portions of our company to Jabil Circuits Inc. ( www.jabil.com ), one of the largest electronics subcontract design and assembly firms in the world.

Since 1988, SMT Plus has continued to expand its product and service offerings to include the provision of custom courseware development, generic off-the-shelf instructional kits, generic off-the-shelf web-based courses, various onsite training services, seminars and the authoring of numerous books and web-based publications. Our primary focus and expertise is competency development and assurance, performance improvement, knowledge infrastructure, and process improvement related issues.

We are a close knit organization of highly skilled people. One of the primary goals of our organization is to create for everyone that works at SMT Plus, a lifestyle that is balanced between our work and personal lives.
